Biyoğrafisi :

Brooklyn, New York'da doğmuştur. Babası İtalyan-Amerikan kökenli Kore savaşı gazisi bir işçi idi. Lise yıllarında güreş ile ilgilendi. 1980-1984 yılları arasında ise New York'un Little Italy bölgesinde itfaiyeci olarak çalışdı.

En bilinen rolleri Reservoir Dogs filmindeki Mr. Pink, Con Air filmindeki Garland Greene, Armageddon'da ki Rockhound, The Big Lebowski'de ki Donny ve Fargo filmindeki Carl Showalterdır.

Buscemi sıklıkla filmlerde nörotik ve paranoid karakterleri canlandırmıştır. Coen Kardeşlerin filmlerinde bu nedenle sıkça gözlenen sanatçı Adam Sandler filmlerinde de komedi tarzında kendine yer edinmiştir.

2003 yılında The Simpsons çizgi dizisinde konuk sanatçı olarak yer almıştır. 2004 yılında da The Sopranos dizisinde Tony Blundetto rolü ile karşımıza çıkmışdır

Oyunculuğu yanında yönetmen olarak da imza attığı filmler vardır: Trees Lounge in (1996), Animal Factory (2000), Lonesome Jim (2005). The Sopranos dizisinin Homicide: Life on the Street bölümünü de o yönetmişdir.

11.Eylül.2001 Dünya Ticaret Merkezi saldırısı sonrası Buscemi eski çalıştığı itfaiye merkezine gönüllü olarak dönmüş ve 12 saatlik şiftlerle burada çalışmıştır. Ancak bu konuda herhangi bir ropörtaj ya da görüntü çekimine izin vermemiştir.
